I’m supposed to be the wise and responsible god who does always the right thing am I?” she said wondering if she was that boring, or if Thanatos thought she was boring enough to not enjoy herself and be at parties like everybody else does. It wasn’t like she didn’t liked them, she was just scared of the fact of being watched that wasted by everybody else, since she is supposed to be the wise goddess who tells that being drunk is wrong. “And don’t call yourself monstrosity, Thanatos. Even dashing Aphrodite could act as a hydra with that much alcohol in her system” she couldn’t help but smile after picturing Aphrodite that way. And she thought of herself that the only reason she didn’t drink at most parties was because she actually thought that when someone had a little much to drink, you could enjoy their truthfulness in their speaking and their true intentions, which are all hidden when sober.
Thanatos smirked because of her joke. “I hope it lasts?” Thanatos said, not being sure of himself when he said it. “Their marriage. I hope they don’t get too physical and idiotic because of..” he stood up began to get dizzy. This was embarassing.
Athena got a bit sad when Thanatos mentioned the marrage between Dio and Aphrodite, that made her think about Hephaestus. She wondered if he really didn’t care, or if it was all some kind of act and he was actually hurt. No wonder, he should just forget about it.
“I don’t know if they’re going to last. It’s not in the heart of a Goddess to marry or be with only one man her whole life” she said when suddenly Thanatos dropped likely dead in front of her. She was able to catch him fortunately, he could have hit his head pretty hard on the floor. Like anything was going to happen to him, he was indeed the God of Death, he couldn’t die of a concussion.
“There, there. I believe you’ve had enough to drink. You should get some sleep, my friend”

Thanatos, how’s your head today?
Thanatos froze in his spot. His jaw was moving and he wrongly forgotten that Athena was at the party..or he just didn’t noticed. Her soft fingers rubbing his face with water, spread goose bumps all over him. A goddess touched him willingly. Thanatos wiped at his eyes. “You’re right. But…I didn’t take you for a party person,” he turned to her when he said this. “Don’t you despise this mostrocity?”

Five minutes outside, that was all he needed.
Inside the mansion, Thanatos was stuffy. The air wasn’t air, it was breath. Thanatos drank three cups and the wine was in goblets. Whatever, he rinsed his face in water now. As he was bent down, a lady seemed to have been talking directly at him. He stood back up, squinting in his mask, which he kept on at the blurry image in front of him. “How awful. Someone sober making fun of me..who would’ve seen this coming..me!” he growled, slapping his hands forward to sprinkle wetness away.
Athena just let a little giggle out and surprisely when the man talked she could recognize him immediately. “Well, I can have my fun without drinking” she replied while sitting besides the man and reaching for his mask. She removed it from him gently. “And I wasn’t making fun of yourself, Thanatos. Dio has his ways of making people look chaotic and lost.” She put the mask down and washed his face with a little water. “He can make the most respectful man look completely the opposite with his magical parties. Don’t take it too personal”

He was drunk and in a black mask. Nobody would recognize him. After speaking to Nemesis, he waddled across the crowd and fell into a vase standing by a pillar. The chunks on Thanatos’ throat from the inside made him throw up even more. Cringing because of this, he stood back up. People gawked at him, thinking ‘Wow, who invited that trash’ and others were ‘Man is Dionysus’ wine too strong for this weak bastard’. That’s right. He knows what they thought and their whole lives. Thanatos wiped his lip.
He was still unrecognized but he scanned the room and walked out to a water fountain. Thanatos washed his face with his hands.
Athena was a bit late to the party as always, not that they didn’t entertained her, but oh well, she didn’t seem much of a problem be a bit late for her taste. Everyone was having a good time and she only could entertain herself watching everyone, all gods, daemons, hybrids and muses getting well with the party, because she didn’t enjoyed being herself drinking. Dio did all his magic again, she thought. Maybe sometime she could break her rules a bit and get loose. Sometime.
She suddenly came across someone with a black mask near the fountain. She could see that he was drunk, of course he was washing his face with the fountain’s water trying to stay awake. Poor man, she thought. If only he knew he would end up like this in Dio’s party, he would have taken a little precaution with the drinking.
“Seems like there’s another one who couldn’t stand a chance with some of Dio’s parties” she said while she got closer to the person, trying to recognize him, but not being able to.
